Privacy Policy

Hype.food processes data to receive pilot requests, contact restaurants, and operate its AI menus.

Who processes the data

The data controller is Epic Star LLC, a company registered in the United States and operating under the Hype.food brand. For questions about data processing, contact us at [email protected].

Data we receive

  • from the request form and request metadata: restaurant name, email address, phone number when provided, approximate country and city, page language, referral source, and campaign tags;
  • technical data in standard infrastructure logs: IP address, User-Agent, request time, and server errors; the IP address and full User-Agent are not copied into menu analytics events;
  • public website analytics: visited page, referral source or campaign tags, approximate country, device, operating system, and browser; form fields are not sent to the analytics provider;
  • menu analytics: a random first-party visitor identifier, QR-link redirects, menu page views, category and item impressions, category selections, item opens, video starts, menu language and primary browser language, viewport class, referral hostname, campaign tags, and approximate network country and city — without names, phone numbers, email addresses, payment data, full referral URLs, or precise coordinates.

Why we use data

  • to contact a restaurant about a pilot request;
  • to prepare and display a demo or a restaurant menu;
  • to maintain the security and reliability of the service;
  • to understand which menu sections and dishes are used and improve the product.

Who may receive the data

We do not sell contact information or share it with third parties for advertising. Data may be processed by technical providers that help us operate the service, including hosting, infrastructure, CDN and security, email delivery, database, logging, and Plausible for privacy-focused public website analytics.

Processing outside Belarus

Data may be processed outside the Republic of Belarus, including in the United States, where Epic Star LLC is registered, and in countries where our technical providers operate. We use this processing only to run the website, handle requests, support infrastructure, maintain security, and analyze the product.

Cookies and local storage

The public homepage and demo menu do not require an account. Our public website analytics does not set analytics cookies. Menu analytics stores a random first-party visitor identifier in local storage for up to 180 days to distinguish browsers and understand repeat usage. The identifier is not a guaranteed unique person and does not contain a name, phone number, or email address. We may also use essential cookies or local storage for interface and authenticated-session functionality. If we introduce marketing cookies, we will update this policy separately.

Retention period

Pilot requests are retained for up to 12 months after the last contact unless longer storage is necessary for the pilot, a contract, or legal requirements. The random menu visitor identifier rotates after 180 days. Technical logs are retained as long as necessary for security and diagnostics, while product events are retained while needed for analytics and service development.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction or deletion of your data, or ask us to stop processing it. Contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable time and may ask you to confirm that the request concerns your data.

Policy updates

We may update this page as Hype.food develops, for example when we add integrations, analytics methods, or restaurant features.
